DPS, Dastur, Spicers record impressive wins

Pune, Nov 30 (UNI) Delhi Public School and Spicers School recorded impressive victories over their opponents Vidya Niketan Balewadi and Anglo Urdu to qualify for the second round of the Boys Under-17 Abhijeet Kadam Memorial Youth Football Tournament today.

The tournament, being jointly conducted by the Abhijeet Kadam Memorial Trust and the Deccan Eleven under the aegis of the Poona District Football Association at Bharati Vidyapeeth education complex grounds here, saw Delhi Public school thrash Vidya Niketan by 5-0 and Spicers make short work of Anglo Urdu 3-0 to enter the second round.

However, the most impressive win was recorded by Sardar Dastur Boys, who hit Shaan Patel for a tennis score with a 9-0 triumph and Loyala got the better, in sudden death, of R B Academy 3-2.

Following are the results: Sardar Dastur Boys School 9 (Alman Shaikh 6 goals, and Jonther Gomanly, Taslim Khan and Ranjit Sing Kanwal one goal each) bt Shaan Patel School 0; Loyala High School 3 (Rugred Yewale, Rahul Thomas, Satyajit Bose) bt via sudden death R B Academy 2 (Prasanna Kukarale, Ishwar Iyer); Delhi Public School 5 (Yash Shah, Suraj Parekh - 2 goals, and Rana Choudhari - 2 goals) bt Vidya Nilketan, Balewadi 0; Spicer High School 3 (Vanasaanga, Thadin Sibou - 2 goals) bt Anglo Urdu High School 0.
