CYSS burns cardinal's effigy for his remarks

Ranchi, Nov 30 (UNI) Cardinal Telesphor P Toppo was today severely criticised for his remark that if advasis living in Assam was denied ST status then they would be brought to Jharkhand and outsiders residing here would be driven out from the state.

Condemning the remark, Chatra Yuva Sangharsh Samittee (CYSS) today burnt his effigy.

CYSS president Udai Shankar Ojha said these remarks were enough to create fraction between people, and person assigned with uplift of people religiously should not get indulged in such controversies.

Mr Ojha demanded the state government should immediately arrest the cardinal for his remarks.

He also urged all political parties should come to a common platform on the issue and voice their protest against the cardinal's remarks.

Earlier, a procession was taken out by the samittee in the city.
