Rupnagar, Nov 30 (UNI) Punjab Congress unit chief Rajinder Kaur Bhattal today said the SGPC move to put a portrait of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in the Sikh Museum at Harmandar Sahib Complex could lead to disruption in the peaceful atmosphere of the state.
''The action would encourage the terrorist and separatist forces in the state and Congress had strong objection to the SGPC move'', the PPCC president said while talking to mediapersons here today.
''The cat has come out of the bag and the Akali Dal and Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) stood exposed. Now it has become clear who had encouraged the terrorism in the state,'' she said.
She also demanded that the BJP clarify its stand on the matter.
Ms Bhattal also alleged that Akali Dal-BJP government was ''directionless'' and had failed in availing money provided by Centre for various central sponsored schemes. She also alleged that government was running away from bringing out a white paper on the financial position of the state.
''The Akali Dal-BJP alliance should leave the power if they were unable to run the state effectively'', she said.
In reply to a query Ms Bhattal asserted that Congress in the state was ''united as never before while the Akali Dal and BJP were a divided house today''.
In reply to another query, she said that Punjab Congress would be reorganised by January next year and many changes would be made in the organisational structure of the state Congress but only some office bearers of the PPCC and DCC presidents would be changed.
