New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) Chinese Ambassador to India Sun Yuxi today said there was a proposal to invite young Members of Parliament from India to visit China as Parliamentary exchanges greatly contribute to relations between the two countries.
The Chinese envoy, who called on Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee here, said the two countries had many things in common.
''Both nations have a population of one billion each and once they get better, almost half of the world gets better,'' he told the Speaker.
Mr Chatterjee said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's proposed visit to China would further strengthen the Strategic partnership between the two sides. paving way for working tigether in many areas.
He said as old friends, both could benefit from each other and called for frequent interaction between the Parliaments and Parliamentary Friendship Groups of the two countries.
