BSF outposts to be drug distribution centres in Tripura
Agartala, Nov 30 (UNI) The BSF has taken the responsibility of distributing medicines in the remote locations of Tripura in order to provide proper health care facilities to the villagers.
Inspector General of BSF Tripura Frontier J A Khan said here today that BSF battalions in the state had taken up the responsibility of community health and the state government had assured them provision of basic medicines and testing kits.
Mr Khan said about 6,400 BSF jawans had been afflicted by the Plasmodium Falciparum Malaria virus while 10 of them had died.
He said about Rs 1,000 had been allotted for the treatment of each jawan suffering from malaria and the BSF had taken initiatives to combat the situation in a comprehensive manner.
