After 4 days, Haj flights take off from Kashmir
Srinagar, Nov 30 (UNI) After four consecutive days of cancellation, two Jeddah-bound flights of Indian carrying Jammu and Kashmir Haj pilgrims today finally took off from the Srinagar airport.
Besides, one normal flight each of Indian and Jetlite, carrying passengers, also took off from here.
Airport sources said the air links between the Kashmir valley and the rest of the world resumed today after remaining cut off for four consecutive days due to heavy fog cover and zero visibility at the Srinagar airport.
However, the sources said only four flights could take off from the Srinagar airport today due to light fog and poor visibility in the area this morning.
Bad weather forced cancellation of all other flights of Jet Airways, SpiceJet, GoAir, Kingfisher and Deccan, they added. Some of these airlines operate two flights a day from here.
