TRS belittling Telangana armed struggle
Hyderabad, Nov 29 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party General Secretary K Srihari today alleged that Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) President K Chandrasekar Rao was only ''belittling'' the Telangana armed struggle by eulogising the ''autocratic'' rule of the Nizams.
Talking to reporters here, the TDP Spokesman praised the then Maharaja of Travancore for sowing the seeds of social development in Kerala. In contrast, people in the erstwhile Hyderabad state under the Nizam rule were backward socially and economically steeped in poverty and illiteracy.
Mr Rao showering encomiums on the rule of Nizams was like lauding the Britishers for giving Indians the Parliament building and railway network and belittling Mahatma Gandhi who got freedom for the nation, the TDP leader opined.
The Telangana people still remember with horror the massacre by the Razakaars during the Nizam rule, he pointed out.
