Bangalore, Nov 29 (UNI) India is on the threshold of emerging as a global leader due to the contributions of knowledge-based industries, Tata Sons Chairman Ratan Tata said today.
Inaugurating the corporate headquarters and development centre of group pharma company Advinus Therapeutics here, he said knowledge-based industries such as information technology, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies had a big role to play in realising India's vision of emerging a global leader.
He said Advinus was in a way not different from any other company of the Tata Group, it would play a major role in drug discovery and development, which would benefit the mankind in fighting the diseases.
Mr Tata said the commitment to Advinus was long-term but ''the organisation should not end up with silocos but be creative and become multidimensional, by taking up research in life science and material science.
