Bangalore, Nov 29 (UNI) UK based energy giant National Grid, in partnership with Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, Wipro Technologies and Zensar Technologies has come together in true 'Global SpirIT' to support educational facilities at a school in Bangalore.

The project was an outcome of National Grid's strong 14-year-old relationship with the Indian IT companies, and its excellent track record of supporting community initiatives wherever its business has an impact.

All four partners established Global SpirIT in 2005, a long-term initiative to understand the respective cultures which leads to improved ways of working with each other, and now has further extended this by providing a global approach towards Corporate Social Responsibility, a TCS release here said.

The Mannam Memorial Educational Trust (MMET) School in Bangalore had benefited by the provision of a new science laboratory, a new library and most important of all, drinking water. None of these facilities existed before the intervention of the Global SpirIT team.

The new rooms at the school were inaugurated by Denise Wilson, Director Shared Services for National Grid and Executive Sponsor of Global Spirit, Nagaraj Ijari, Vice President and Head TCS Bangalore and Arun Krishnamurthi, General Manager Utilities Division of Wipro Technologies.
