National Conference on cow protection on Dec 1

Tirupati, Nov 29 (UNI) The Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthansm (TTD), in association with Chennai-based Sri Bhashyakara Charitable Trust (SBCT), will organise a three-day national conference on cow protection, 'Vande Gomataram - Glory of Gomatha', from December 1.

Talking to mediapersons here yesterday, TTD Chairman B Karunkara Reddy said the conference would be inaugurated by Udipi Pejawar Mutt Head Vishveshatirtha Swamiji.

The conference aims at creating awareness on cow protection, usages of various cow products and its economical and environmental advantages.

Co-ordinator of Nagpur-based Govigyan Anusandhan Kendra (GVAK) Sunil Mansinghka said it was necessary to create awareness among farmers on cow usage as hundreds of farmers had committed suicides in various States due to lack of knowledge.

He claimed that 300 Panchgavya centres at various places succesfully treated more than 25,000 patients with chronic diseases caused by cow milk, ghee, urine, curd and dung.

Sixty Eight papers on different aspects of cow, including its conservation, would be presented at the meet by eminent agricultural scientists, he added.
