Ministers warning to private ayurvedic colleges

Chandigarh, Nov 29 (UNI) Medical Education and Research Minister Tikshan Sud today directed the private Ayurvedic and Homeopathic Colleges to either upgrade infrastructure in their respective institutions according to the guidelines of their affiliating councils or be prepared to face strict disciplinary action.

The Minister said that the special teams constituted by him to inspect infrastructure of various colleges had reported "minor or major deficiencies" in most of the institutes. He said that the Government was committed to provide quality medical education and would not tolerate any dereliction by any medical institute.

He said that the he had separately constituted specialised teams to inspect the infrastructure in private nursing, medical, dental and para-medical colleges. These teams soon inspect these institutions and submit a report to him.
