Mani urges govt to reverse decision to cut subsidy
Kochi, Nov 29 (UNI) Kerala Congress (M) Leader K M Mani today urged the state government to reverse its decision to cut subsidy on electricity for domestic consumers.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Mani said '' cutting the 20 per cent subsidy per unit will increase the electricity charges from December one.'' ''The government's decision was in violation to the promise given by Electricity Minister A K Balan that the electricity charges would not be hiked,'' he added.
''It was the previous UDF government, which provided subsidy to domestic consumers. The present LDF government was acting against the interests of the people,'' he added.
