KCF terrorist deported from Canada, sent into police custody

Phagwara, Nov 29 (UNI) A local court has sent former Khalistan Commando Force terrorist Jasbir Singh 'Seera' into police custody till Friday for further interrogation.

The police had arrested Seera, who was deported from Canada, at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi early yesterday, and produced him before the judicial magistrate late last evening, DSP Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh today said.

Seera, a resident of village Umarpur Kalan under Bilga Police Station in Phillaur Sub Division, was wanted in at least six cases.

He was declared PO by Phagwara Police in a case of double murder and another attempt to murder case under Section 302 IPC, Arms Act and Tada in 1992.

Four cases were registered against him by Jalandhar Police, on in Adampur for attempt to murder in 1992, one in Banga, and two in Kartarpur, one under TADA and another under explosives act.

He was arrested and convicted in two cases of Kartarpur in 1995 and had spent more than four years in jail, but fled to Canada after his release.

Seera was married in Canada in 2001, but, was divorced after matrimonial dispute with his wife. He was living with his only five- year-old mentally challenged son.

The Phagwara Police had made repeated requests to the Canadian authorities following which they deported him DSP Khakh said.

Several important disclosures were expected from Seera, the DSP added.
