New Delhi, Nov 28: Reacting to the alleged provocative posters by the Narendra Modi government in Gujarat, the Congress today said any violations in this regard need to be taken note of by the Election Commission.

AICC spokesman Shakeel Ahmad told reporters here that the code of conduct relating to elections was in force in Gujarat and any violations should be taken note of by the Election Commission.

Mr Ahmad was replying to a question that in its election campaign the Modi government has brought out posters showing the Godhra Train in flames.

Mr Ahmad said if the party has to submit proof in this regard to the Election Commission, then it would do so.

The Western State faces Assembly elections in two phases -- December 11 and 16, generating much heat and dust.
