Dell launches new computer and notebook

Bangalore, Nov 29: In a massive brand building exercise to push its computers to tech savy Indians and to extend its leadership position from the corporate segment to individual cells, global PC leader Dell today announced the launch of a sleek and stylish notebook and also a feature rich Personal computer in the premium segment.

Launching the two computers, Mr Girish Mehta, Director for Consumer Marketing for Dell India said the notebook XPS M1530 was loaded with premium features such as built in webcam and fingerprint reader and design accents such as touch sensitive multimedia buttons and brushed aluminium accents. The notebook available in a choice of eight colours has a basic price tag of Rs.52,900.

He said the Dell's XPS range demonstrated the company's focus on design and performance that resonated with customers seeking a premium notebook experience. He said the latest model had a 15.4 inch widescreen and weighed around two kg. It had a slot load optical drive, DirectX 10 capable graphics, HDMI support and sophisticated touch sensitive media buttons. It had an optional blu-ray disc drive and included noise cancellation earbuds and revel remote that is stored away in the Express Card slot.

Dell XPS 420 was a premium multimedia desktop PC that featured the option of Dell exclusive Adobe Elements Studio software pre installed to simplify multimedia creativity. Costing Rs.65,000 at the low end, the model is powered by muilti core intel processors and choice of ATI and NVIDIA graphics cards to make fast work of compelx digital media creation, edition and capturing activities.

The exclusive Dell Xcelerator option enabled the users to directly port their video inputs into the computer.
