Daily wage driver convicted in DA case

Bhopal, Nov 29: A daily wage driver in the Lokayukta special police establishment at Rewa has been convicted under the Prevention of Corruption Act for possessing disproportionate of assets (DA) to his income.

According to Lokayukta sources, a case has been registered against Ramniwas Chourasia on October 1, 2005 and the chargesheet was filed in a special court at Rewa on January 31, 2007. The accused was working as a daily wage driver with the divisional office of Lokayukta.

A special court of Rewa has sentenced him to one year rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 1,000, the sources added.
