Pune, Nov 29 (UNI) A fly past and an aerobatics display delighted spectators, who attended the 'Passing-out-Parade' of 225 cadets of the 113th batch of the National Defence Academy (NDA) at Khetrapal Parade Ground here today.
Adressing the cadets after presiding over the parade, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Sureesh Mehta exhorted the young cadets to be worthy leaders and fine human beings as they would be future leaders of the finest fighting men in the world, from whom they would receive loyalty, comaraderie and devotion.
''It is your sacred duty to ensure that you are worthy in every aspect of the respect and devotion of the men that you will command,'' Admiral Mehta said.
The Naval Chief gave away the President's gold medal to ACC R S Anvesh while ACC A R P Singh won the silver medal and SCC Kundan Kumar claimed the bronze medal for standing first, second and third respectively in the overall order of merit of the passing out course.
''Juliet'' Squadron won the coveted title of overall Champion Squadron and received the Chief of Staff Banner.
ACC R S Anvesh commanded the parade in which as many as 700 cadets, divided in 12 contingents and immaculately dressed in blue patrol (uniform), participated. SCC A K Singh led the Nishan Toli carrying the President's colour.
