Patiala, Nov 28 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh thrashed Railways by ten wickets on the penultimate day of the Cooch Behar Trophy (Under-19) here today at the Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium.
Overnight 81 for three in 28 overs, Railways were bowled out for 220 in 80.4 overs in their second innings. Prashant Awasthi played a brilliant knock of 85, supported by Gaurav Kumar, who scored a painstaking 66, though it was not enough to save the Railways from defeat. A Pandey was unbeaten on 24 when the Railways innings folded up.
For UP, Mohammad Khalid performed superbly with the ball to capture four for 43, while Bhubaneshwar Kumar bagged three for 20. A Tiwari took two for 20.
In the second innings, UP completed the formality and scored 32 for no loss to romp home with a facile 10-wicket victory. UP earned five points, including bonus point. Railways failed to earn any points.
