New Delhi, Nov 28 (UNI) The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) today clarified that the commission has no connection with the case in which an employee was convicted of graft charges.

''The act for which Rama Kant Sharma has been convicted does not pertain to any duty arising in connection with the commission,'' the NHRC said in a statement here today.

Sharma was convicted of attempting to bribe a Special Protection Group (SPG) by offering an amount of Rs 2000, for clearing the payment dues of a company. He was working as an unpaid executive on a part time basis.

He was re-employed with NHRC for just about a month ago and as soon as the NHRC came to know about his criminal case and registration of FIR against him, his service were immediately terminated, it said.
