Chennai, Nov 28 (UNI) NASSCOM has shortlisted six companies for its prestigious 'NASSCOM Innovation Awards 2007', in process and input innovation categories for their innovations in respective IT fields.

The awards would provide a platform to companies to showcase use of innovation in business, through their products, NASSCOM Chairman Lakshmi Narayanan said here today.

A new category 'market facing innovation', aiming at end-user, had been introduced this year, he said, and added that through this initiative, the award winners would provide a 'light house effect' and further spur the innovation movement in India.

The winners of these awards would also have the opportunity to showcase their innovations at the annual NASSCOM India Leadership summit, which would be addressed by global IT-BPO industry CEOs, CIOs of international customer organisations, analysts, policy makers and academia, he said.

This would provide tremendous exposure to them and would also help them to increase their visibility among the business and thought leaders present, he pointed out.

Introduced in 2004 for the first time to recognize the innovators in Indian IT and BPO industry, the NASSCOM Innovation Awards had grown to a prestigious platform, which would recognize the 'best of the best innovators' in the Indian IT-BPO industry, he added.
