Mutt Seer asks Uma to withdraw candidates from Gujarat poll
Bangalore, Nov 28 (UNI) Sri Vishveshatirtha Swamiji of Udupi Pejawar Mutt today advised Bharatiya Jana Shakti(BJS) leader Uma Bharati to withdraw her candidates in the ensuing Gujarat Assembly elections and work for the consolidation of Hindu forces.
In a release here, Swamiji said ''I have instructed my disciple Uma Bharati that it will be advisable for her to consolidate the Hindu forces by withdrawing the candidates and thereby clearing the confusion in the minds of Hindu society.'' He said he held detailed talks with many prominent Saints and sanyasins about the political situation prevailing in Gujarat and in favour of Hindu consolidation. It would be better to avert the division of Hindu forces, he added.
The Swamiji said ''on my part, I will continue to have dialogue with the Saints in Gujarat to find solution to their problems and had advised Ms Bharati to address the Hindu society for consolidation and solution to their problems''.
