Health Ministry constitutes committee on mandatory rural posting

New Delhi, Nov 28 (UNI) The Health Ministry has constituted a High Level Committee to deliberate on compulsory one year rural posting which would help in ensuring availability of doctors in the rural areas of the country, The Committee under the Chairmanship of Dr R Sambasiva Rao, Additional Director General of Health Services, would assess the opinion of the student community, medical faculties and other stakeholders on the proposal of the Ministry regarding one year compulsory rural posting of fresh medical graduate.

The Committee will submit its report on completion of their ongoing tours to various states in the country. The terms and conditions of the compulsory rural posting have not yet been finalised, Health Minister Anbumoni Ramadoss informed the Lok Sabha in a written reply.
