Chennai, Nov 28 (UNI) After facing ire over her remarks on pre-marital sex, popular Tamil actor Kushboo has courted controversy again, this time for allegedly hurting the sentiments of the Hindus.
A Hindu Munnani functionary had filed a petition in a Magistrate court at Kumbakonam in Thanjavur district alleging that Ms Kushboo had hurt the Hindu sentiments by sitting with chappals in front of the idol of a Goddess during the Muhurat of a Tamil film ''Vallamai Thaaraayoh''here recently.
The petition, filed by ''Ramnagar'' Gurumurthy, a Hindu Munnani functionary in Kumbakonam, had sought action against the actor.
The court today posted the petition to December 3 for hearing.
Mr Gurumurthy had filed the petition after watching the Muhurat function in private tamil satellite channels.
He said the manner in which Kushboo had conducted herself at the function, attended by prominent women personalities should be condemned. An explanation should be sought from the actor as several people had watched it on television channels and through internet.
It may be recalled that Kushboo's remarks that there was nothing wrong in women having pre-marital sex as long as they avoided pregnanacy had stirred a hornet's nest, with women organisations and political parties condemning it. More than 20 cases were registered against her in various courts two years back.
