Badals birthday to be celebrated as 'Punjab Ekta Divas'

Chandigarh, Nov 28 (UNI) The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and the BJP will jointly celebarte the birtday of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal as ''Punjab Ekta Divas'' December 8.

A galaxy of national leaders, including BJP stalwarts will take part in the main function to be organised at Bathinda.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the Co-Ordination Committee of the alliance partners held here today.

Talking to mediapersons after the meeting, BJP secretary Balbir Punj, who is incharge of party affairs in Punjab said that the event would be organised keeping in view the towering stature of Mr Badal in Punjab and national politics.

One of the highlights of the day would be the laying of the foundation stone of a world class cricket academy and stadium in Bathinda.

The SAD and the BJP are working in close unison to make the event a memorable occasion.A number of developmental projects would be launched on the occasion.
