Agr officers to be Insecticide Inspectors

Chandigarh, Nov 28 (UNI) The Haryana government has given the additional charge of Insecticide Inspectors to the officers of the Agriculture Department under the Insecticide Act 1968 for the effective implementation of the Act.

The ACT is aimed at regulating the import, manufacture, sale, transport, distribution and use of insecticides to prevent risk to human beings or animals.

Stating this here today, a spokesman of the Agriculture Department said that officers who posses the qualifications as mentioned under rule 26 of the Insecticide Rules, 1971 were appointed as insecticide inspectors.

The Insecticide Inspectors whose jurisdiction would be the entire state included Additional Director of Agriculture, Extension, Additional Director of Agriculture, General, Additional Cane Commissioner, Joint Director of Agriculture, Quality Control, Joint Director of Agriculture, Plant Protection, Joint Director of Agriculture, Cash Crops, Joint Director of Agriculture, Cotton.

They also included Deputy Director of Agriculture, Plant Protection, Deputy Director of Agriculture, Headquarters, Deputy Director of Agriculture, Training and Deputy Director of Agriculture, Agronomy.

He said that the jurisdiction of all Deputy Directors appointed as Insecticide Inspectors of the state except Deputy Director of Agriculture, Ambala would be their respective districts.

However, the jurisdiction of Deputy Director of Agriculture, Ambala would be Ambala and Panchkula. Similarly the officers who had been appointed Insecticides Inspectors to look after the work within their jurisdiction included all Subject Matter Specialists of Training and Information, Agronomy and Plant Protection, all Sub Divisional Agriculture Officers, all Quality Control Inspectors in the state, all Assistant Plant Protection Officers and all Block Agriculture Officers.
