Uphaar cinema owners surrender passports before court today

New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) Uphaar cinema owners Sushil and Gopal Ansal surrendered their passports before a Patiala house court today.

Additional Sessions judge Mamta Sehgal pronounced sentence to Uphaar cinema owners Sushil Ansal, Gopal Ansal and N D Tiwari, Shyam Sunder Sharma(both MCD officials) and H S Pawar (Delhi Fire service official).

They were given two years imprisonment on November 23 in Uphaar fire tragedy case that claimed 59 lives on June 13, 1997.

The court accepted interim bail of Ansal brothers and three others on the same day and directed them to surrender their passports.
