New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) Two motorcycle-borne youths died after being hit by a truck amid a heavy pile up of vehicles at Sarai Kale Khan early this morning, police said.
Rajan (32) and Mahipal Singh (25) were returning from duty at a club in Greater Kailash when they got sandwitched between a dumper going in front of them and the truck behind them after a pile up on the Sarai Kale Khan flyover at 0200 hours, police said.
The pile up occurred after a sharp turn by a dumper to enter the flyover led to a series of vehicles coming from behind, which included the bajaj Pulsar motobike on which the youths were travelling, applying sudden brakes. However, the truck coming behind the motorcycle did not apply brakes resulting in its occupants being sandwitched between the truck and the dumper ahead of them.
The youth died on the spot, police said.
In another accident, a Tata 407 vehicle hit a 30-year-old youth at Badarpur in South Delhi.
Mukesh was hit by the Tata 407 when he was crossing the road at the Jaipur crossing on Badarpur.
The driver Shivmangal has been arrested, police said.
