Moscow, Nov 27 (UNI) Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Anatoly Isaikin as new General Director of the state-controlled arms exporter Rosoboronexport, the Kremlin press service reported.
The new General Director Mr Isaikin was previously deputy chief of Rosoboronexport and replaces Mr Sergei Chemezov who moves as General Director of Rostekhnologii, a state-run high-tech corporation, which looks after the development, production and export of high-tech industrial products.
The appointment is effective from the day of entry into the force of the law, ''on the State Corporation Rostekhnologii,'' which was approved by Russian parliament earlier this month.
On Saturday, President Putin signed into law a bill creating Russian Technologies, a project that Mr Chemezov had long lobbied for.
The new holding will be able to ''conclude all kinds of deals, sell and purchase assets, enter capital of Russian and Western companies related to high-tech production of military, dual and civil use,'' Rosoboronexport said.
The new holding will incorporate Rosoboronexport, the country's top carmaker AvtoVAZ; VSMPO-Avisma, the world's largest titanium producer; RusSpetsStal, a specialist steelmaker; and other companies.
Russian Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov will head the new state corporation's supervisory council, the Kremlin said, Interfax reported.
The supervisory council will also include the head of the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation Mikhail Dmitriyev, Regional Development Minister Dmitry Kozak, Economic Development and Trade Minister Elvira Nabiullina and Industry and Energy Minister Viktor Khristenko.
