Laxman offers worship in Balaji temple

Tirupati, Nov 27 (UNI) Team India and Hyderabad batsman V V S Laxman today offered worship to Lord Venkateswara at the temple in Tirumala following his good performance with the bat and India's victory in the first Test match against Pakistan in New Delhi.

Laxman, who was here with his wife and three year-old son, told reporters that the seniors in the team who played well, were the architects of the yesterday's win in the match.

Expressing confidence about the team's performance in the second test at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on November 30, he said India will continue their good run if the seniors continued in the same vein.

He requested the mediapersons not to raise controversial issues relating to BCCI as the cricket Board has imposed a ban on cricketers from speaking to the media.

He said he offered worship at the temple thank Lord Balaji and to pray for keeping his place in the squad.

After the 'darshan' of Lord Balaji, he motored down and offered worship to Goddess Padmavathi at the temple in Tiruchanoor near here.

Later, he left for Chennai.
