Nashik, Nov 27 (UNI) The five-day ''Krishi 2007'', jointly hosted by event management company Media Exhibitors and Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (MACCIA), will be held here from November 29.
A pre-inauguration launch of the exhibition will be held tomorrow, Media Exhibitors director Sanjay Nyaharkar and MACCIA's Digvijay Kapadia told a presss conference here today.
District Guardian Minister Chhagan Bhujbal and Agriculture Minister Balasaheb Thorat will grace the occasion.
The exhibition will have 18 halls and over 350 stalls. The focus will be on organic farming, post harvesting, floriculture, dairy and livestock, farm technology, future markets, and others.
The exhibition will highlight the economic advantages of organic farming and also highlight global developments in biotechnology.
A pavillion will be dedicated to providing information on post-harvesting techniques and another pavillion will be dedicated to floriculture. The farm technology pavillion will showcase latest technology in the farm equipment sector, while the futures market pavillion will provide information on the new trends that will dominate the markets in the future.
Seminars will be held on various subjects like contract farming, challenges in agriculture, opportunities in winery, sugarcane, onion, and Indian dairy industry.
Some foreign companies will also be putting up stalls in the exhibition.
The India Wine Show, an international exhibition and conference on the wine industry, will be another feature of the Krishi 2007. As many as 35 wine manufacturers will participate in the exhibition. A buyers-sellers meet, trade seminars, panel discussions and wine tasting sessions will be held as part of the India Wine Show.
Awards such as ''Krishi Sarthi'' for innovative farming, Organic Farmer, Exporter Farmer, and ''Krishi Ramni'' for women farmers will also be presented during the fair.
