5 employees of BHEL bag Golden award

Tiruchirapalli, Nov 27: Five employees of the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) here, who were members of one of the quality circles have won the prestegious "Golden Award" at the international convention recently held at Beijing in China.

A release from BHEL here today claimed that this was the highest honour for quality circle teams in the world.

The team headed by R Palanivel, T R Deenadayalan, G Pitchu, V Rajagopalan and S Ramchandran presented a case study on welding alloy steel reducers with straight pipe without defects and reduces operator fatigue while increasing productivity and cost effectiveness.

The team had earlier won several awards at the national conventions of quality circles, including "Par excellent presentation award," the release added.
