Economically Backward Commission to submit report next yr

Lucknow, Nov 27 (UNI) The National Commission for Economically Backward would submit its report to the Uttar Pradesh government next year suggesting ways of improving the financial status of the unreserved sections of the society.

A delegation of the Commission is on a three-day visit to the UP capital from November 26 to 28.

Talking to reporters here, Commission President J S R Sino said they are identifying the economically weaker section of people and talking to the UP government, public representatives and social welfare organisations as how to provide them education and government jobs.

The Commission had also toured Rajasthan and Haryana, Mr Sino informed.

The Commission was constituted in 2006 to assist the government identify ways of helping the economically weaker and unreserved section of the society. Its tenure ends on January 31.

During the three-day visit, the Commission will hold meetings with intellectuals and social workers. Its delegation would hold separate meetings with state Backward Welfare Minister and the Chief Secretary.
