Visakhapatnam, Nov 27 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Infrastructure Minister M Venkata Ramana Rao today said the state government's proposed Coastal Corridor project would not affect any section of the people.

Talking to newspersons here after laying the foundation stone for a new block in King George Hospital here, he said the government was waiting for the green signal from the Indian Navy for the provision of night landing facility at Visakhapatnam airport.

Eight small greenfield airports were planned at Nellore, Tadepalligudem, Warangal, Nizamabad, Kadapa, Karimnagar and one between Prakasham and Guntur districts. The airports at Machilipatnam and Gannavaram were under expansion programme, he said.

He said the government was consulting the Director General, Civil Aviation on the location of an international airport in the city.

He said there was definite need for the development of sea ports for exporting marine and agricultural products. The government was trying hard to complete the Gangavaram port by the middle of next year and plans were afoot to handle cargo from there very soon.
