CFA Trainees get exposure against German U-17 Team

Chandigarh, Nov 27 (UNI) Elevent players of the state-run Chandigarh Football Academy were lucky as the German National Under-17 Team along with eight officials visited Leipzig for various tests and practice and stayed at the E Brown Sports School for five days from November 20 to 25, according to information received by Dr JPS Sidhu, Joint Director Sports, Chandigarh Administration.

This is the second batch of the CFA which is visiting Leipzig for advanced training. The first batch had visited Germany early this year.

On the request of the CFA trainees, the German coach Arbeid and E.

Brown Sports School Director Kohn Andrey, the chief coach of the German National under-17 team allowed the CFA trainees to play a practice match against the German junior national team. During the 30-minute practice match, the CFA trainees got an opportunity to have a feel of their strength, speed, skill, tactics etc.

During the match, which lasted from 10.30 to 11.00 a m the CFA trainees played well and tried their best to match the skill of the German players. In the first 10 minutes, both teams tried to have the possession of the ball and the game was mostly confined to the midfield.

After 10 minutes, the German boys scored the first goal. Five minutes later CFA trainee Aman restored parity. Slowly the German boys took control of the game and repeatedly attacked the CFA citadel pumping in three more goals. The last five minutes belonged to the CFA trainees as they had complete possession of the ball but could not score any more goals.

Meanwhile, stay at the E Brown Sports School at Leipzig is comfortable. Break fast for the trainees is laid at 7. a m as they have to report for training at 9.00/10.00 a m After fitness training breakfast includes plenty of milk and a variety of non vegetarian food such as salamis.

esides, cheese, butter, honey, yogurt, jam, cornflakes with dry fruit, bread, fruits, apple, orange, bananas, juice etc. are laid out on the table. Lunch and dinner include Indian as well as German food, both veg and non-veg.

Two to three trainees have been put up in each room which are centrally heated . Laundry facilities have also been provided by the school. A TV room is also there, where trainees can watch matches.

After strenuous training, hot water shower provides relaxation to the trainees and they can consume fruits along with milk whenever they like as fruit and milk are placed in each room.

The CFA trainees were taken to Cottsbuss to watch a German League match between Cottsbuss and Bremen. Although it was a two hour journey, it was worthwhile as the trainees were able to watch international level football players in action.
