AP to develop KG Basin into petro-chemical hub

Tirupati, Nov 27 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Major Industries Minister J Geetha Reddy today said the Kakinda-Godavari (KG) basin would be developed into a petro-chemical hub.

Talking to reporters here, she said the state government was taking all steps to develop the KG basin into a petro-chemical hub and provide more opportunities for women entrepreneurs in the state.

To encourage women industrialists, the state had allotted 30 acre to them in Medak to set up industrial units.

During the last three years, the state attracted an investment of Rs 10,500 crore, she said adding more companies were evincing interest to establish units in the state.

Under Rajiv Udhyoga Employment Scheme, she said the government would provide ten lakh jobs in two years.
