President arrives in Nasik, to visit Shirdi tomorrow

Nasik, Nov 26 (UNI) President Pratibha Patil was today welcomed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and some of his cabinet colleagues on her arrival at Ozar Airport, near here, by a special Air Force plane.

The President, along with Deshmukh, will be proceeding to Shirdi tomorrow to have a darshan of 'Sai Baba'. She will inaugurate a huge hall to feed pilgrims, who visit Shirdi in large numbers.

The hall has a capacity to accommodate seven thousand people at a time, official sources said.

The president was welcomed among others by the PWD minister Chhagan Bhujbal, who is also the guardian minister of Nasik district, State Agriculture minister Balasaheb Thorat, district collector S Chokalingam and School of Artillery's Lt gen Baldev Singh.

She later left for the Government Rest house. After an overnight halt at Nasik, the President and her entourage will leave for Shirdi tomorrow morning, the sources added.
