Nickel, Copper heavy, brass

Mumbai, Nov 26 (UNI) Key prices of nickel cathode, copper heavy, zinc, lead and copper wire bars in ferrous and non ferrous metal sections today ruled better on strong advice from London Metal Exchange (LME) along with Kolkata, Delhi and other centres, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.

In the ferrous category (per quintal), copper heavy and copper utensils were up by Rs 500 each while Brass utensils advanced by Rs 50 due to sustained heavy demand from industrial users.

In the non-ferrous category (per quintal), copper wire bar, zinc slab and lead ingots prices also edged up by Rs 500, Rs 200 and Rs 200 respectively in line with copper prices.

Similarly, nickel cathode rose by Rs ten per kg on brisk industrail users demand induced by firm LME, along with Kolkata, Delhi and other centres, traders added.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 33,700, Copper utensils - Rs 31,200, Brass utensils - Rs 24,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 25,000 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 10,800.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 37,000, Aluminium ingots - Rs 12,400, Zinc slab - Rs 12,700, Lead ingots - Rs 12,700, Tin slab - Rs 790 per kg and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,410 per kg.
