LS condemns blasts; pays respects to victims

New Delhi, Nov 26: The Lok Sabha today observed silence for a short while as a mark of respect to the memory of those killed in serial bomb blasts which rocked Uttar Pradesh last week.

Fourteen people were kllled and 59 wounded in the multiple blasts which shook the court premises in Faizabad, Lucknow and Varnasi.

The House also paid respects to those who lost their lives in the blasts in Assam. About two people lost their lives and 18 were injured in the Assam blasts.

After Speaker Somnath Chatterjee moved reference to the events in Uttar Pradesh and Assam, the House strongly condemned these cowardly acts of terrorism and expressed its condolence to the bereaved families. UNI
