Lawyers abstain from work to protest UP blast
Hazaribagh, Nov 26 (UNI) Protesting the serial blasts in court premises of Uttar Pradesh, lawyers today abstained from work in this district.
Court proceedings remained affected following the agitation.
The lawyers observed two-minute silence to pay tribute to those who died in the Friday blasts.
The decision to abstain from work was taken at a meeting called by the Jharkhand State Bar Council (JSBC) on November 24.
The JSBC Chairman P C Tripathy had already demanded compensation of about Rs 10 lakh to the family of the deceased and Rs 5 lakh to the injured.
Mr Tripathy demanded adequate security arrangement for legal officers and advocates throughout the state.
About 16 people, including advocates, were killed in the blasts Friday.
