Judicial inquiry ordered into Saturday violence
Guwahati, Nov 26 (UNI) The Assam government today ordered a judicial inquiry into Saturday's attack on Adivasi protestors which left one dead and scores injured.
Talking to UNI over phone from Jorhat, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi informed that a retired high court judge would conduct the inquiry.
He further said that some of the culprits of the violence, which claimed one life, had already been arrested.
Meanwhile, a 36-hour Assam bandh, called by the All Assam Adivasi Students' Association (AAASA) protesting Saturday's clashes, left one person dead and several injured today in sporadic violence.
The bandh was complete in the tea belts.
