Mumbai, Nov 26 (UNI) The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation House was adjourned today after the opposition corporators started shouting and sloganeering, opposing Shiv Sena-BJP's decision on the new policy for recreation ground and play ground plots, just as Mayor Dr Shubha Raul started her speech.
The opposition is against the Shiv Sena-BJP's decision on the new policy for recreation ground (RG) and play ground (PG) plots in the city, that will be up for grabs for the caretakers in the city.
Mrs Raul in her media briefing said, ''The opposition is only creating a scene and does not want any debate on the RG and PG plots issue, they only intend to stop the proceedings of the House.'' She added, ''I had offered the opposition a debate on the RG and PG policy, and we could have come out with a solution, but they are only interested in stalling the proceedings.'' Group leader of the NCP in the Corporation Niyaz Ahmed Vanu said, ''We will oppose the Shiv Sena-BJP policy on the RG and PG plots and we will not allow them to pass the policy.'' He added, ''We will go to the public and seek their opinion on the issue through a signature campaign this week.'' Surprisingly, while the House was adjourned on two days on the RG and PG plots issue, the ruling Shiv Sena-BJP passed more than 30 proposals in the House concerning the city.
