Health Minister calls for checking drug abuse
Chandigarh, Nov 26 (UNI) Health and Family Welfare Minister Laxmi Kanta Chawla today said that it was essential to appoint Drug Inspectors in all the districts to check the misuse and sale of intoxicants and habit forming drugs under rules of Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940 and 1945.
She expressed these views while addressing the twelve newly appointed Drug Inspectors.
She said that these Drug Inspectors had completed one month training and remaining two weeks training would be imparted in five different districts of the state. She said that the inspectors would be appointed on vacant posts during their training period to effectively join the government in its on going campaign against drugs in the state.
