Bangalore, Nov 26 (UNI) Senior Congress leader H K Patil today welcomed the Parliament approval to lift Karnataka Assembly from suspended animation, paving way for President's rule in the state.

The BJP in Karnataka also welcomed the decision and urged for early mid-term polls in the state.

Talking to UNI here, Mr Patil blamed the BJP and the JD(S) for the present state of affairs in the state.

Referring to the detailed discussion on the motion in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, he said the allegations and counter allegations made by the erstwhile coalition partners exposed the real colour of both BJP and JD(S), he said.

State BJP President Sadananda Gowda, in his reaction, demanded early elections. ''JD(S), which ditched BJP is not in a position to face people and it will be wiped out in the state,'' he added.

Former Chief Minister and BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa, welcoming the Parliamentary nod for the President's rule, said the party would fight alone in the coming Assembly Elections.

''We will not align with Mr H D Deve Gowda at any cost and we are confident of winning the majority on our own. BJP will not hesitate to induct those JD(S) leaders, who were disgusted with the attitude of the Deve Gowda family members,'' he added.
