Una, Nov 26 (UNI) About 200 students of Government School for boys in Una city had a miraculous escape as the double storey school building in which they were studying, collapsed at about 1100 hrs today, police today said.
The incident reportedly occurred due to some earth excavation work in progress on an adjacent plot of private land.
The sources said school principal MS Chandel said a case has been lodged at the Una police station under the damage to Public Property Act.
The four room double storey building is located on the edge of the Boys school grounds in between the district library and the Town hall, the police said.
A private land owner was excavating mud for construction of plinth on his plot. Suddenly, the rooms started developing cracks.
The students and the teaching staff just managed to run out to safety before the building collapsed into rubbles.
