Arrested youth not my disciple: Mahant Nrityagopal Das
Ayodhya, Nov 26 (UNI) Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas president Mahant Nrityagopal Das today claimed that the person, who allegedly sent him a threatening letter in the name of al Qaeda, was not his disciple.
Talking to UNI here, the Mahant maintained that the accused Santosh Jaiswal, who was held from Haridwar, was not his disciple.
He also disapproved of the police calling the arrested youth his pupil.
The seer asserted that he had never written any letter to the administration seeking security cover not even when the same was withdrawn.
''Despite all this, linking the accused to me points towards a conspiracy,'' he pointed out.
On November 22, the Mahant had received a letter purportedly written by al Qaeda threatening to kill him. The envelope of the letter contained the seal of Haridwar.
Later, Santosh had revealed that he was peeved over the security of the mahant not being to the level of VHP leaders, including Ashok Singhal and Pravin Bhai Togadia, and had written the letter to mount pressure on the government for the same.
