Cuttack, Nov 26 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh beat host Orissa by 102 runs on the fourth day of the Ranji Trophy (Elite Group B) league match at the Barabati stadium here today.
Resuming their overnight score of 32 for no loss, the host Orissa failed to chase the target of 327 runs and were all out at 224.
For Orissa Nirajan Behera scored 66 with eight hits to the boundary, the highest followed by Debasis Mohanty 46 with seven fours and one six.
Half century by Behera in 109 balls in 147 minutes with six boundaries raised some hope but it soon disappeared as the other batsmen failed to live up to their expectation and left in quick succession After the game started for the day, overnight batsmen B S Pati and S S Das failed to withstand the visitors onslaught and went back to the pavilion after adding only six runs to their overnight score.
Similarly Pravanjan Mullick was caught at six, Subit Biswal at 7, Haladhar Das was run out on 2 and Sukanta Khuntia was bowled out at 5.
Andhra Pradesh had declared their second innings at 287 for nine giving a tough challenge to hosts Orissa on the third day of the Ranji Trophy yesterday.
For Andhra Pradesh, D Kalyan Krishna and G Shankar Rao took three wickets each and M Suresh and H Vatekar took one wicket each.
