Chennai, Nov 26 (UNI) The special team, probing the incident in which Tamil Nadu Youth Congress Chief Mayura S Jayakumar was stabbed on November 11, has arrested one more party functionary in this connection.

Police sources said Tamil Nadu Youth Congress General Secretary Srikandan alias ''Kodambakkam'' Sri was arrested last evening.

He was produced before a Magistrate who remanded him in judicial custody for 15 days. Srikandan was taken to Puzhal Central prison.

With this, the police had arrested 10 people allegedly involved in the incident which took place in Mr Jayakumar's chamber at the TNCC Headquarters ''Sathyamurthy Bhavan.'' The police had arrested Williams, who was directly involved in the attack, and his aide Mohan. Later, State Youth Congress vice-president Rethinakumar alias Rajnikanth, another functionary Saravanan and three others were arrested.

During the course of investigation, two people involved in the attack -- Nicholson who drove the van in which the miscreants came and Madan, one of the hired goons-- were arrested last week.

On a complaint from Mr Jayakumar, the police registered cases against 19 people and cited TNCC president M Krishnasamy's son and Cheyyar MLA M K Vishnu Prasad as the prime accused in the case.

Williams, said to be supporter of Dr Prasad, was cited as the second accused in the FIR.

Apprehending the arrest, Dr Prasad had already moved the High Court which had restrained the police from arresting him for two weeks.

However, a three-member panel constituted by the party to go in to the attack had reportedly absolved Dr Prasad of his involvement in the attack.
