Switch to gas for saving Rs 30,000 cr on oil bill: GAIL

skyrocketing
prices
of
crude
oil
a
little
below
100
dollars
in
the
international
market,
state-run
power
transmission
and
distribution
firm
GAIL
(India)
Ltd
has
said
India
can
save
Rs
30,000
crore
yearly,
if
it
increases
its
dependence
on
gas
by
50
per
cent.
At present, the country makes an outflow of about Rs 1,80,000 crore from its foreign reserves on energy sector, 70-75 per cent of which is spent on crude oil, GAIL Chairman-cum-Managing Director U B Choubey said here.
