Minorities faith increasing in Nitish government: Lalan
Patna, Nov 25 (UNI) The JD(U) in Bihar said with rise in the confidence of minorities in Nitish Kumar-led NDA government, a large number of people were seen joining the party.
Addressing a function on the occasion of the entering of some of the prominent leaders of the minority community into the JD(U), state unit president Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh today told newspersons that the state government had earned confidence of the minority following the steps initiated for their development. He said the Nitish government was genuinely concentrating on the progress of the community, which was always used as a vote bank by the previous government.
Mr Singh claimed that the opinion of the people of the community was changing fast, following the changed attitude of the government towards them. The previous Lalu-Rabri government had suppressed cases of the infamous Bhagalpur riots and shielded one of the main accused Kameshwar Yadav, he alleged, adding that it was Mr Kumar, who reopened the cases and instituted a fresh commission for inquiry in order to probe the matter and provide justice to the riot victims.
Those who embraced the JD(U) include Md Mustaqueem Akhtar of All India Rangrez (Tie and Dye) Jagaran Manch and his supporters and former MP Brahmdeo Ram Shashtri.
