Kathmandu, Nov 25 (UNI) An armed group today looted about 20 million Nepali rupees from the Bank of Kathmandu at Kamaladi in the capital, the police said.
An armed group of about a dozen robbers stormed the bank office this evening, took all the staff under control and looted 20 million Nepali rupees.
A local media reported the amount however, the exact amount is not known yet, officials said.
The robbers also fired two shots before forcing all bank staff to gather at one place, police is quoted as saying. However, no one was injured.
Police have arrested Rabi Khadka of Ramechhap and Mohan Ghotame of Jhapa districts in connection with the robbery.
Police have recovered Rs 2.3 million from Khadka and Rs 20,000 from Ghotame, Kantipur quoted police as saying.
The robbers have also taken away with them the CC TV device installed at the bank.
The police have surrounded the bank building and have not allowed media persons enter the site. Security has been beefed up in the areas.
